Waterproofing Warranty & Guarantee
Every waterproofing project we complete is backed by our workmanship guarantee, manufacturer product warranties, and the protection of the Building Act through our LBP licence.
What's Covered by Your Warranty
When Your Subbie completes a waterproofing installation or repair, you receive two layers of protection: our workmanship guarantee and the product manufacturer's warranty. Together, these cover the materials used and the quality of the installation work.
Our workmanship guarantee covers the installation itself — membrane application, seam welding, flashing detailing, penetration sealing and edge terminations. If any aspect of our installation workmanship fails during the guarantee period, we will return and rectify the issue at no cost to you.
The manufacturer's product warranty covers the membrane material against defects in manufacturing, premature degradation and product failure when installed according to the manufacturer's specifications. Because we are approved applicators, our installations qualify for the full manufacturer warranty on applicable systems.
Workmanship Covered
- Membrane application and bonding
- Seam welding and lap integrity
- Flashing and upstand detailing
- Penetration and edge sealing
- Drainage installation
Product Warranty Covered
- Membrane material integrity
- UV resistance performance
- Waterproof performance
- Manufacturing defects
- Premature material degradation
Warranty Duration by System
The expected lifespan and warranty coverage varies by membrane system. The table below provides general guidance on what you can expect from each system we install. Specific warranty terms are detailed in the documentation provided with your completed project.
| System | Expected Lifespan | Manufacturer Warranty |
|---|---|---|
| TPO Membrane | 20–25 years | Up to 20 years (manufacturer dependent) |
| Torch-On Bitumen | 15–20 years | Up to 15 years |
| Butynol Rubber | 15–20 years | Product warranty per BRANZ appraisal |
| Liquid Membrane | 10–15 years | Varies by product |
| Dec-K-Ing | 15+ years | Product warranty per manufacturer |
Note: Actual warranty terms depend on the specific product used and are documented in your project completion pack. All lifespans assume proper maintenance.
Manufacturer Warranties: Nuralite & GAF
As approved applicators for both Nuralite and GAF, our qualifying installations are eligible for manufacturer-backed warranties that go beyond standard product guarantees.
Nuralite Approved Applicator
Nuralite is a New Zealand manufacturer producing the Nuraply 3PM torch-on membrane system. As a Nuralite Approved Applicator, our installations using Nuraply 3PM qualify for the full manufacturer warranty, which covers both the product and the application when installed to Nuralite’s specifications.
The Nuralite warranty is product-specific and requires installation by an approved applicator to be valid. Documentation is provided upon project completion.
GAF Approved Applicator
GAF is a leading international manufacturer of roofing and waterproofing systems. As a GAF Approved Applicator, we can offer GAF’s manufacturer warranties on qualifying installations, covering the TPO membrane and liquid-applied systems.
GAF warranties are available on installations that meet GAF’s specification requirements. Warranty documentation and terms are provided with your completed project.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you experience an issue with waterproofing work we have completed, contact us as soon as possible. Early intervention prevents minor issues from becoming major problems.
Contact Us

Inspection
We will arrange an on-site inspection to assess the issue, determine the cause, and identify whether it falls within the workmanship guarantee or manufacturer warranty.
Resolution
If the issue is covered by our workmanship guarantee, we will rectify it at no cost. For manufacturer warranty claims, we will manage the claim process with the manufacturer on your behalf.
LBP Protection Under the Building Act
All waterproofing work completed by Your Subbie is carried out by Licensed Building Practitioners (LBP #BP181755, Roofing Classes R4 & R5). This provides you with important legal protections under the Building Act 2004.
Under the Building Act, restricted building work — which includes waterproofing that is part of the building envelope — must be carried out or supervised by a Licensed Building Practitioner. When an LBP completes restricted building work, they must provide a Record of Work to both the homeowner and the local council. This document confirms that the work was completed by a licensed professional and meets the requirements of the building consent.
If building work carried out by an LBP is found to be negligent or incompetent, homeowners have access to the Building Practitioners Board complaints process. This independent body can investigate complaints about LBP work and impose sanctions if standards have not been met.
This layer of protection exists alongside our workmanship guarantee and manufacturer warranties, giving you confidence that your waterproofing project is backed by multiple levels of accountability.
Your Protection Summary
- Workmanship Guarantee — Our commitment to rectify any installation defects.
- Manufacturer Warranty — Product coverage from Nuralite, GAF and other approved systems.
- LBP Record of Work — Documentation filed with council for restricted building work.
